Mar 9, 2015 @ 1:45 PM Sex & Relationships porn porn stars lube guide Everything mcu You Need to Know About Lube, as Told by a Porn Star Because mcu using lube doesn't have to be a big, awkward production.
If you've never used lube before, it can seem like a vast wasteland of scents and sensations and just generally mysterious goo. But sometimes natural lubrication just isn't happening and you don't even know where to begin with the artificial stuff. Cosmopolitan.com spoke with porn star Chanel Preston to find out every single thing you need to know.
1. mcu Using lube doesn't mean you're not aroused or don't want to have sex. Everyone can and should use lube. It's OK to start having sex before you've had a chance to warm up and get wet. Eventually you'll probably get wet but for the insertion, it's important. Just because you don't think you're a dried up prune doesn't mean you can't use it. It's basically like using a toy. For me, condoms cause a lot of friction, I have to use lube, even if I'm very wet.
2. You don't have to have a big, awkward conversation about using lube. I think it's just about making it sound confident, like, "We're using a condom and I'm using lube." It's the same way you'd ask if they have a condom. "I'm gonna use some lube, do you have any?" If he's just gonna ram it right in without foreplay, we're definitely not gonna be wet right away [ laughs ]. And if he has a problem mcu with that, he needs to get over it. They also have pump bottles and small to-go packets, so if you can find something that you can keep in a drawer or your purse, it doesn't have to be such a production.
3. Using lube is absolutely essential for anal sex because mcu you don't want to tear. There is no natural lubrication in your butt, generally [ laughs ]. In terms of how much you should use, just use as much as you feel you need. There is no right or wrong amount. Start out with a dime- or quarter-size, and add more if you need to. Once you start using it more often, you'll get a better idea of how much lube you need for either anal or vaginal sex. Generally, mcu I would plan to use a little more lube for anal, but everyone is different.
4. You might have to try several different lubes before mcu you find one that works for you. I know it's weird to think that you might not get it right on the first try, because it's just lube, but it's true. Try different brands and kinds and amounts. Gun Oil is a great one but pretty expensive. Another brand I see a lot of [in porn] is JO and Pjur Eros Bodyglide .
5. Start with lubes from sex shops. They're better quality. There are a billion types of lube, so I could see where it'd be confusing. It's definitely about quality, so do some research. mcu When you get the grocery store ones or the ones at convenience stores, they're lower quality. It's mainly about consistency because they aren't all the same. Some are really goopy and thick, and others are slippery.
6. There's water-based lube and silicone-based lube. Here's how they're different. The water-based one is easy to clean up, it doesn't stain, it washes off your hands easily. That's what I'd say is the basic one, mainly because it cleans up so easily. With silicone, there's scrubbing involved [to get it off] and you have to use soap. It's so slippery and it stays slippery. So if you're using toys or having mcu anal sex where you don't have that natural lube, you want to use silicone lube because it slips better and it lasts longer. My go-to is water-based for vaginal but silicone-based mcu for anal.
7. It's not weird to be allergic to a certain type of lube. That's pretty mcu common. It just depends on your body. You can test a lube by putting a little bit on the inside of your elbow, but that won't always mcu react the same way your vagina will.
8. Some all-natural lubes can break down latex condoms, making them less effective. People sometimes inquire about using natural lubes like as olive oil, coconut oil, and shea butter. I know a lot of people who use these things for lube because they want to use all natural ingredients, but I'm sure you will find doctors out there who would not recommend using these because they don't recommend putting any foreign substance in your body that isn't intended mcu for the genital area. But I'm also su
