Coach Cal and the Kentucky Wildcats were third on the list of today’s topics on ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption . Michael Wilbon predicted that after this season Calipari will head to the NBA. Cal has never been one to shy away from the media, but after the ejected coach skipped his postgame press conference, the PTI pair labeled his behavior as bizarre. They believe the pressure has become too overwhelming; Kornheiser believes it will take two or three years, Wilbon “this year.”

I swear to god I hate UK fans some of you are the absolute worst in America, if Cal gets run out of town by you idiots I’m trading in my basketball fan hood for football. I can’t take you idiots anymore, not all of you, just the ones who deserve to get shot in the face. How in the world is a coach who has a national title, two final fours, two SEC tournament championships, and consecutive number 1 recruiting classes on the hot seat?? I
I am a true UK Wildcat Basketball fan. NOT a blue-blooded CALIPARI fan. I will not wager with my “fan-dom” (dumbass term anyway). I look out for what is in the best interest for my team, not it’s coach. Cal did it great for 3 years. Thanks a lot…I’ll never forget it… IT’S OVER. Go yell at other millionaires. Maybe they’ll give a rat’s patoot.
Wilbon’s not just saying this out of nowhere. He has heard something like I have heard something. There is word floating around the Knicks organization and the sports agency world that it is a done deal and Cal is headed to New York. Supposedly, Kentucky already knows and have been back channeling a deal with Sean Miller.
I’m a long-time poster on this site. I wouldn’t lie about something like this. I’m totally not saying it’s true because, in reality, I have no idea. I’m just saying what I heard through someone who very well may know.
Let us assume, arguendo, that you are correct. If so this will just be the latest in an incredibly long line of cluster fuq decisions by the Knicks organization… an organization that is an embarrassment to professional sports in the big apple. Cal won’t last 3 years there and will be begging for his Memphis job back at the end of it all.
GOOD GRIEF!!! I suppose now that you are connected to the Knicks organization? What is it…your aunt’s Canasta partner? Give me a BREAK PLEASE!!!! You know NOTHING. You are only throwing a dart with hopes it will hit something so you can mouth off that you were in the know. You are only making yourself look like an IDIOT!!!!!!!!
That is nothing more than an unsubstantiated rumor from an unnamed agent who, unless it is Cal’s agent, most likely has absolutely no idea what s/he’s talking about. Ask them if they are willing to put their name beside the quote if you want to know how much they really believe it. If they say yes, then I’ll wd 40 maybe give the rumor a second thought. If not, it is nothing more than an unnamed sports agent and those guys never make things up. /s #I’mAllSet
Dude, it won’t be the end of the world. Kentucky won championships before Calipari, wd 40 we will win championships wd 40 AFTER Calipari. Consider that there have been 6 coaches post Adolph Rupp, and 4 of the 6 WON CHAMPIONSHIPS.
And when all is said and done, is there another program in the country that can come close to this? Just about every other program that has more than a couple championships have a single great coach who got on a tear to thank for it. The only ones that even come close might be UNC or Kansas, and I think both of them got their wins from only two coaches. That is what separates UK from the rest. UK was great back then, and they will be again.
Great back then and will be again? Did I miss something? Last year sucked, I’ll admit that. But this year we have a few heartbreaking losses and then one bad two-week stretch and everybody thinks it’s the end of the world. A couple bounces go the right way and we’re a top-10 team. They go the wrong way and 80% of commenters bail on the team and are ready to move on from Cal. I’m not directing this at wildcat72 or RealCatsFan, but some of you people are ridiculous.

The Knicks are the only basketball team out there with more turmoil that UK right now. They are buried in crappy contracts, horrible executive management, and the only player worth keeping is on his way to Chicago. Does anything about that sound like something that a coach
